AMR are Silver Xero Champions, with certified bookkeeping and payroll specialists on staff and at hand to assist you with any aspect of your Xero bookkeeping needs.
We understand that every business is unique. That's why we offer a flexible selection of bookkeeping packages to suit the requirements of your individual business. Whether you're a sole trader or a blue chip firm, we are able to offer the level of bookkeeping you require across a multitude of industries.
Our specialist personnel are available to help manage your Xero account, offering training and support however and whenever you need it. We can advise you on how to make the most of Xero, structured in a way designed to suit your business needs, and offer telephone support for any queries you may have along the way.
Most importantly, our Xero bookkeepers work around you. Our services are designed to be adaptable, so that any idiosyncrasies your company may have are fully understood and taken into account. We can come and visit you at your own offices, spending time getting to know your business and how it operates, review your systems and put together a personalised plan for how we can best work together.
As well as our offices in Tonbridge and Medway we have a presence within an accountancy firm in Tunbridge Wells and in central London.
Our team of Xero bookkeeping and accountancy specialists are handpicked for their qualifications and experience in delivering the very best bookkeeping service and advice. Our accredited specialists are chosen for their personable attitude to providing a service that is both efficient and easy to understand, even for digital novices.
We are unanimously committed to building a long-standing relationship with you, your business and your staff. In our experience, this is the best way to make sure that our understanding of your business stays current over time, which is integral to ensuring our work is as efficient as possible.
We are highly qualified, certified specialists, confident in handling all of your Xero bookkeeping. However, it is often preferable for our clients to be equipped to manage the system internally as well.
That is why one of our core services is providing in-depth training to help you make the most of Xero. We can come to your offices or you can come to one of ours and we will work with you and your staff to bring you all up to speed with what you need to know.
Our strategy is to keep it simple: we avoid using any complicated jargon or going too fast. The aim, after all, is for you to be able to use Xero independently and easily. As part of our ad hoc follow up service if you do ever have any queries, we are always at the other end of the phone and happy to help if you come across anything unfamiliar.
Xero bookkeeping software has a range of features, including:
As it operates in the cloud, Xero allows us to collaborate with you digitally. You will be able to see the same real-time information as us, and to upload data on the go from any device with internet access. This means that all your bookkeeping is kept up-to-date at all times, with no lag between action and input, so everything is safe, in one place, whenever you need it.
The need for high-level cybersecurity has never been greater. As Xero is certified as compliant with ISO/IEC 27001:2013 (the global premier IT security management system standard), you can be assured of the highest level of robust security management. Network protection, data encryption and continuous security monitoring is offered as standard. Furthermore, within the Xero software, we are able to set up multiple layers of security, such as two-step verification, where required. All your data is protected and backed up, as secure as it can possibly be.
The answer is that it depends on your business. Xero is well-known for being one of the easiest bookkeeping softwares to use, providing real-time views of your business's cash flow to be accessed across multiple devices. If your company is much larger, you may benefit more from Sage, which is the leading software for integrated accounting, payroll and payment systems, but is less agile in terms of its omnichannel capabilities. At AMR, we are fully trained and accredited in the use of both Sage and Xero.
Is Xero compatible with Making Tax Digital (MTD)?
Xero has worked closely with HMRC for over three years to ensure that businesses are supported through the transition to MTD that came into effect in April 2019. Now, Xero software is equipped to ensure that you can fulfil your Making Tax Digital obligations.

No. As Xero is a cloud based software when updates are available these happen behind the scenes with no downtime required or input from an IT department. Each month updates are released to ensure that Xero is kept up to date with HMRC legislation and improvements to the software based on user feedback.
With cloud based bookkeeping software there is no need to run a regular back up of the data and save this to your computer. As the information is stored in the cloud it is not situated on your local PC and therefore you can be safe in knowledge that if you needed to replace your PC or it crashed, your accounting data will not be lost.
